Dr. Perlman

Dr. Perlman is a neuroscientist with a particular interest in developmental neuroendocrinology. His PhD thesis was entitled “Spatio-temporal Pattern of Expression of Four Genes Involved in the Sexual Differentiation of the Developing Zebra Finch Brain,” focusing primarily on the ontogeny of steroid hormone receptors and synthetic enzymes in the embryonic zebra finch brain. He has since been a post-doctoral researcher working on the development of stress and sex steroid hormone receptor expression in the postmortem human brain in one of the foremost schizophrenia research laboratories in the world. Dr. Perlman has extensive experience in writing and editing biomedical manuscripts and is now a freelance writer and editor, a certified medical publication professional (International Society of Medical Publication Professionals) and member of the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA).
