Dr. Philpott

Dr. Philpott is a molecular biologist with a specific interest in female reproductive biology and oncology. Dr. Philpott’s thesis was entitled “A novel serine protease, Htra3, in rat and rhesus monkey ovary, and in human gynecological cancers”. This thesis focused primarily on the genomic structure of Htra3 protease in the rat and the alternative splicing of this protease. In addition, the role of this protease in the development of the ovary and follicolgenesis in the rodent and the primate ovary was investigated. Furthermore, this thesis reports a potential role for this protease as a tumor suppressor in female oncology.

Dr. Philpott has extensive experience in the writing and editing of manuscripts related to the medical field of biomedical science and is now listed as a freelance writer/editor for Australia Medical Writers Association.
